English Translation of Al-Quran

[12].Surah Yusuf [Joseph]

Ayat 109. (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH): And We sent not before you (as Messengers) any but men, whom We inspired from among the people of townships. Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those who were before them? And verily, the home of the Hereafter is the best for those who fear Allah and obey Him (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds, and by performing righteous good deeds). Do you not then understand? "

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The supplication most often recited by Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) was: "Allahumma atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil-akhirati hasanatan, wa qina `adhab-annar (O our Rubb! give us (guidance) in this world that of which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire).''' [Muslim Book 35, Chapter 09, Hadith # 6507].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Yusuf Ayat 109. "And verily, the home of the Hereafter is the best for those who fear Allah and obey Him" It is desirable to recite this Dua which is mentioned in the Qur'an (Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 201) and which comprehends all that is good both in this life and the Hereafter. The Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) made it a habit to recite this Du`a, and the Companions were eager to follow him in all his words and actions.

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Now That You Have Become a Muslim,
Stay As a Muslim

The holy month of Ramadan is drawing to a close and Inshallah we will soon be celebrating Eid. The excitement of Eid is all around us and all are busy with the preparations for Eid.

If we take a look at the past month, Alhamdulillah we did a great job. We obeyed Allah swt by fasting for full 30 days. We stayed away from haraam things to the best of our ability. We did not backbite nor fight. Our heart was filled with emaan and wherever we saw looked so beautiful.

We had indeed became a “Complete Muslim”.

A Muslim is a person who summits his will to Almighty God.

Now That You Have Become a Muslim, Stay as a Muslim…

Is this not what Allah swt expects from us?

After Ramadan, everything will be as it always was the same masjid, the same namaz, the same Muezzin and the same azaan.

Hayya alas-Salah… Hayya alal-falah…

(Come to prayer – come to success).

But sadly these words wont matter for most of us.

After Ramadan, it is too difficult for us to get up for the Fajr namaz let alone going to the masjid for Fajr Salaat.

Once again our morning sleep will be having more importance than the call of Allah swt.

During Ramadan, we anxiously used to wait for the Fajr azaan to go the masjid but once Ramadan is over, when do we take time to wait for the azaan ?

Remember my brothers; the person who goes for Fajr Namaz in the darkness of the dawn will be having light on the Day of Judgment when we all are walking on the siraat.

Now That You Have Become a Muslim, Stay As a Muslim

And build your aakhira.

In the evenings, we used to come home early and sit for iftar and wait for the mouzieen to say the magrib azaan. But now who cares, right?

Work is once again will become more important than namaz

Or

I am traveling towards home during that time and hence cannot perform the magrib prayers on time.

Excuses…Excuses…

These are nothing but excuses which we use to absolve ourselves from our responsibilities as true Muslims.

When we will stop giving excuses and start living as a Muslim?

We stay away from TV and other haraam things for the whole one month of Ramadan. Mashallah we survived the temptations to see whats forbidden to see … because our emaan was strong.

If we can survive for 1 month, it is time for us to carry it forward.

However, as a practical person, I know it is very hard to continue in the same way as we did in Ramadan, we are bound to fall in to Satans trap.

But that does not give the liberty to start watching or doing zinaa with our eyes / hands / mouth and legs ?

Is this what Allah expects from us?

am not asking you to make impossible resolutions and say we are going to stay like this for next 11 months.

All I say is that let us take small steps and make small resolutions which we as a new Muslims can carry.

I urge our New Muslims not to loose their emaan and carry their emaan for another 2 months, till the Eid al-Adhaa (Bakri Eid).

It is hardly 2 months away.

If we could survive and resist temptations of Satan for one month, I am sure we can continue in the same vein for the next 2 months… cant we?

Yes we can… and we will strive do so.

After Eid-Al-Adhan when we look back we would see that we have been a full Muslim for past 3 months.

Inshallah by that time our emaan would be hard as a rock and then we will not need other person to tell us to “be a good Muslim”.

Thereafter, carrying this strong emaan for another 9 months till next Ramadan would not be difficult as it seems to be today.

Yes you can … All you have to do is one thing.

Stay As a Muslim.

[11].Surah Hud (PBUH)

Ayat 44. And it was said: "O earth! Swallow up your water, and O sky! Withhold (your rain)." And the water was diminished (made to subside) and the Decree (of Allah) was fulfilled (i.e. the destruction of the people of Nuh (Noah). And it (the ship) rested on Mount Judi, and it was said: "Away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing)!"
Ayat 45. And Nuh (Noah) called upon his Lord and said, "O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true, and You are the Most Just of the judges."

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Once the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) was speaking to us when, a bedouin came and asked him: "When will the Last Day be?'' The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) continued his talk. Some of those present thought that he had heard him but disliked the interruption and the other said that he had not hear him. When the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) concluded his speech he asked, "Where is the one who inquired about the Last Day?'' The man replied: "Here I am.'' The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "When the practice of honouring a trust is lost, expect the Last Day.'' He asked: "How could it be lost?'' He replied, "When the government is entrusted to the undeserving people, then wait for the Last Day.''

[Al-Bukhari Vol-1, Book 3, Hadith # 56].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Hud Ayat 45. "Your Promise is true, and You are the Most Just of the judges." Here a very important sign of the nearness of the Day of Judgement has been mentioned: The affairs of the world will be in the hands of wicked and undeserving people. The sinners and wicked people will become the leaders of the world. The preaching pulpits would also be occupied by people who would be greedy and ignorant.They will be devoid of piety and abstinence.

Release Notes:

The DeBretts Eli and I went to see the much talked about
new band The DeBretts play at Astro Hall last night, which
was Vol.74 of Creativeman's New Blood series of shows. The
new London based 4 piece recently played SXSW and have
been getting a lot of attention even though they have yet
to release an album in the UK. In fact their debut album
'Rage' has just been released in Japan by PonyUp records
and I bought a copy after the show and I fully recommend
it if you like a raw punk sound with strong melodies and
powerful female vocal.

The live show was very raw and energetic and it was very
clear the band were enjoying themselves and very happy to
be in Japan. Having seen the band for the first time it is
easy to understand the various comparisons to bands like
the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Siouxsie, Patti Smith and Blondie.
For me the performance took me back to the first few times
I went to see Siouxsie and the Banshees (along time ago!)
as the lead singer Vonnie leapt around the stage kicking
and punching the air with great anger and style.
